Fractions proved to be vital for skier Millie Knight after an impressive double bronze medal return on the slopes of Pitztal.

Aged just 18 and the youngest British Paralympian of all time after her appearance at Sochi 2014, clocked two third-placed finishes in the World Para Alpine Skiing Europa Cup in Austria.

Knight came third in the Super-G Visually Impaired 1 race with a time of 1:14.76.

Her effort was just over half a second behind Australian Melissa Perrine, who took silver in 1:14.23, with the day’s first gold going to Eleonor Sana by the smallest of margins, the Belgian a mere 0.04s clear of Perrine.

Knight was initially placed fourth, but was bumped up a place after the disqualification ofGermany’s Noemi Ewa Ristau.

Race 2, in the afternoon, proved more profitable for Ristau, with the German grabbing second as Perrine took gold, more than a second ahead of Knight in third.

Perrine’s time of 1:14.14 was just 0.11s ahead of her German rival, with Knight more than a second back in third – but the Brit herself finished 0.42s ahead of Sana, in fourth, to comfortably pick up her second bronze medal of the day.
