on 16-05-2017 09:12

The British Shooting Paralympic Programme squad at the International Shooting Competitions of Hannover wrapped up the competition with a further two podium positions to finish with five individual medals.

Lorraine Lambert and Ryan Cockbill both won their second medals of the event to complete a successful competition for GB.

In R2 (10m Air Rifle Standing Women SH1) Lambert qualified second with an international PB of 406.0. Again it was Slovakia's Veronika Vadivicova leading the way with a mammoth 421.5. There was no touching Vadivicova in the final with every shot 10.1 or higher but Lambert stayed ahead of the rest of the field to earn her second silver medal of the week.

Ryan Cockbill added R5 (10m Air Rifle Prone Mixed SH1) Bronze to his R4 Silver in a high quality event. Cockbill qualified 5th with fellow Brit Tim Jeffery also making the final in 7th. 15 year old Kristina Funkova of Slovakia put in a remarkable performance to top qualification with 638.7. Pedigree shone through in the final with Paralympic medallists Tirsek of Slovenia and Kovalchuk of Ukraine taking the top two positions with Cockbill winning the Bronze. Jeffery was eliminated first and finished 8th.

The GB medal winners at ISCH 2017 were:

R2 - Lorraine Lambert, Silver
R4 - Ryan Cockbill, Silver
R5 - Ryan Cockbill, Bronze
R6 - Matt Skelhon, Silver
R8 - Lorraine Lambert, Silver
