Clare Cunningham

She has been competing in triathlon since 2006, having formerly been a Paralympic champion swimmer. She won four silver medals at the 1992 Paralympic Games in Barcelona, setting a new world record in the 50m freestyle S9 to claim the gold.

An early convert to the sport, she competed at the first British Para-triathlon Championships in 2008, and won gold at the first ever ITU World Championships on the Gold Coast, Australia in 2009. She has been a regular medal winner at World and European Championships since.

Claire is on sabbatical from her job as a Chartered Accountant at Deloitte and has a 2:1 MA Honours in English Language and Literature from the University of St Andrews, Scotland.
